6/1/16: Registration continues for Summer 2016, and weeks are filling up fast! We’re looking forward to fun camps covering dinosaurs, science & nature, fairy tales, insects, outer space and more exciting themes! Please read on for more information about our programs (some details are new!) and then follow the link below to register online for this year’s summer programs.
Our by-the-week program is designed to share engaging camp themes and lots of summer fun with children from LFS programs and the community! You may sign up for as many or as few weeks as you desire. We are open to toilet-trained children ages 2.5 through 10 (as of their first day of camp), and you do not need to be a current or past student at The Little French School to join us– we look forward to sharing a fun summer with friends both new and returning.
LFS summer students enjoy the fun play-space and beautiful outdoor areas offered by an early childhood classroom at Lane Community College’s Lane Child & Family Center. Children will experience the summer through outdoor play, nature walks, and lots of hands-on activities. We follow a daily routine similar to our regular school year programs, featuring free indoor play, group activities, organic snack provided by LFS, outdoor recess, projects & games, and much more! Our morning programs focus on projects, stories and games according to the theme of the week, while the afternoon will focus on outdoor education, nature exploration and hands-on activities. Students bring a packed lunch from home.
Our summer programs are French-supported; they are open to French immersion students as well as children from the community who are new to the language, so no previous exposure to French is required! Camps are designed to meet the needs of students with many different levels of familiarity with French and are therefore not immersive.
The program operates from June 27 through August 19, 2016. We will be at Lane Community College the first seven weeks, and return to Westmoreland for the last week, August 15-19 (weather permitting; if it is extremely hot we will stay at LCC).
Doors at summer school will open at 8 am, for drop-offs anytime between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. We ask that all students arrive by 9 am so that we can include all children in the morning’s camp activities. Pickups are available at 12:30, 2:30, 5:30, or you may request a special pickup time between 2:30 and 5:30. We close at 5:30 sharp, so please plan to arrive at LCC on time. For students staying after 12:30, a nap/rest time will be provided. We do our best to accommodate families’ requests for daily naps, but we ask that you understand that summer energy can sometimes make it challenging for children to sleep!
We often enjoy sprinklers and water play in the later parts of the afternoons (starting around 1:45 or 2, depending on nap/rest schedules). Please plan your pickup time accordingly if your child would like to have time to play in the water.
2016 Tuition & Fees
Your cost is calculated by the week, based on the schedule you request. A pick-up time between 2:30 and 5:30 may be requested, and you’ll receive your adjusted tuition rate in your confirmation email. The rates below include all fees (snack, supply, registration).
8:30 – 12:30: $165 per week (week of July 5-8, with no school Monday July 4, will be $135)
8:30 – 2:30: $195 per week (week of July 5-8, with no school Monday July 4, will be $160)
8:30 – 5:30 $225 per week (week of July 5-8, with no school Monday July 4, will be $180)
We offer a sibling discount of 5% off the tuition rate for families with 2 enrolled children, and 10% off for families with 3 children enrolled.
A non-refundable advance tuition payment of $25/child/week is due once your registration has been confirmed, in order to hold your child’s space in each camp. You will have two weeks from the date of your confirmation email to submit this payment and confirm your spots. The remaining balance will be payable at the time of your camp, or in two installments (due July 1st and August 1st), or you may settle everything with one advance payment if you prefer.
Cancellation policy: If you wish to cancel for one or more weeks after you’ve reserved them, we ask that you provide as much notice as possible. If you provide 30 or more days notice, your tuition will be adjusted to reflect the cancellation. If you provide less than 30 days notice, you will receive a 50% refund for the cancelled week(s). Advance tuition payments are not refundable.
You may submit your payments to our tuition box (currently at Westmoreland; in our classroom at LCC when summer starts), or you may send payment by mail anytime to our regular mailing address at 1717 City View, Suite 5, Eugene, OR 97402.
Enrolled students will receive more information about what to bring, classroom location, our summer contact information, and other procedural updates by email before summer gets started. If you have specific questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to email us or give us a call!
